We read that Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, “saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, ‘Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men. At once they left their nets and followed him” (Matthew 4:18-20).

When he saw James and John with their father Zebedee, “he called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him” (Matthew 4:21-22).

On the other hand, the young ruler shrank from the call, and found it a hard saying. “Jesus said to him, ‘If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to [the] poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’ When the young man heard this statement, he went away sad, for he had many possessions” (Matthew 19:21-2)… .
